Emerald Consulting and the Costello & Cunningham family will present the inaugural “For the Love of Conor Luncheon” that will be held on January 14, 2013 at the Wyndham Phoenix Resort (50 E Adams St, Phoenix, AZ 85004) at 11:30 AM to benefit notMYkid & Steps of Faith.

In 2008, Conor Costello, the 24 year old son of Bridget Costello, President of Emerald Consulting, lost his battle with addiction and passed away. The event has been created to celebrate and honor Conor’s life as well as to provide teens and parents with real solutions. Join us for this inspirational luncheon for pre-teens, teens and their parents where notMYkid and Steps of Faith will provide preventive solutions to avoid the perils of addiction and to help young people make powerful life choices.  The event will also feature a gourmet lunch and performances from high school dance and choral groups – celebrating the spirit of pre-teens, teens and their families.   Tickets are $30 per person. Proceeds will benefit notMYkid, and Steps of Faith.

Continue reading »]]> Our goal is to help bring families around the table and focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the love of God and loving others, families receive a food box with turkey, all the fixings, including ingredients to make a cake for Jesus Birthday. There are also bible songs and activities for the family to do around the table and items to decorate the table. Families then take a cooking and decorating class before receiving the food box.

How you can help…

Each food box has a value of approximately $60.00. If you can’t fill a food box, please consider a contribution and we will fill a box or two for you.

Items needed for the food box

• Turkey (medium size)
• Bag to cook turkey
• 1 large plastic serving plate (dollar store)
• 2 boxes of stove top stuffing (Costco sells boxes of six)
• 2 boxes of mashed potatoes
• ½ gallon milk
• 2 sticks butter
• 2 packets of gravy mix
• 2 cans chicken broth
• Bag of 12 rolls or 1 package of brown and serve rolls
• 1 can cranberry sauce
• 4 cans green beans
• 1 onion
• 6 slices bacon in a bag
• 4 heads of broccoli
• 1 box cake mix
• 1 can frosting
• 1 ziplock bag of sprinkles
• 1 candle
• 3-6 eggs
• 1 cup oil in a throw away container

Continue reading »]]> My name is Laura and I am a volunteer at Steps of Faith at Esperanza
Women’s Center. I spend my time answering phones, making appointments, sorting
donations, helping people with paperwork and making sure that everyone has a
pleasant experience when they come to the Center.
I love working at the Center because I enjoy helping others.
We do free pregnancy tests and counseling. We help women, men and their families
with classes that help to improve their lives; ESL , Nutrition, Prayer, Crochet, Bible Study
etc., at the same time, earning points for each hour of class time. We provide child care
while their parents are in class. By participating in classes, they can spend their points
like cash, to purchase diapers, baby clothes, maternity clothes and other necessary
items they may need. Donations are always welcome.
